Top grain leather is one of the best types of leather you can find on the market for furniture upholstery. It is obtained after that the grains from the top surface of the animal’s hide are sanded away and buffed, to remove imperfections and defects. The so obtained leather has a more uniform look but is as durable and strong as the full-grain leather but a lot less expensive. This kind of leather could develop a patina on the surface over time, too. Our top grain leather is easy to maintain and stands up to different conditions and uses.
From time to time, top-grain leather should be conditioned in order to for it to remain smooth and supple. You can condition most leather with Lexol Leather Conditioner, but as always, we recommend spot testing first – some top grain leather pieces will have a higher level of topcoat material, which can make it difficult for a product like Lexol to penetrate. Unlike other leather conditioners, Lexol is designed to penetrate deep into the leather’s pores.
