Window cleaning products such as Windex or common kitchen counter sprays should never be used on any wood furniture. To care for your wood furniture, take a “less is more” approach. For regular cleaning, a damp cloth is best. Add a little mild soap if necessary, but do not saturate the piece with moisture. Cleaning products containing ammonia or with a high pH will damage any finished product, causing the finish to soften over time. You should only use cleaners with a neutral pH if you must use one at all.
