Our top grain leather is a type of semi-aniline leather with a silky topcoat added for protection. It is leather from which the grain layer has been partially removed by buffing to a depth governed by the condition of the raw material and upon which a new surface has been built by various finishes. The leather used on these sofas is also a pigmented type. Leather that is finished with a solid pigment coating for consistency of color and texture. Pigment may be used to cover imperfections, as well as add protection.
Although our leather is mostly protected from the environment, maintain a minimum of two feet between your furniture and any heating source. Prolonged exposure to heat vents or radiators can cause the leather to dry out. Avoid placing your leather furniture in direct sunlight to prevent fading and premature aging. Like most items in your home, leather furniture will collect dust. For easy dust removal, sprinkle a small amount of leather cleaner on a cloth, dampen, and dust gently. This may be performed regularly, as needed.
